Dr Katie Roberts
BAppSc (Physio), BMed, MTrauma, FRACGP
Hi, I'm Katie.
I’m a country girl, born and raised in Oberon before moving from Sydney to Newcastle for studies and setting in. Before becoming a GP, I trained in physiotherapy, then studied medicine. During my early medical career, I spent several years working in the hospital system, including roles in Orthopaedic Surgery and Emergency Medicine. These experiences gave me a strong foundation in musculoskeletal health, injury management and helping people return to doing the things they enjoy.
One of the things I love most about general practice is its diversity. I enjoy caring for people of all ages and have particular interests in musculoskeletal health and injury management including Workcover, men's health, perimenopause and menopause care, weight management, paediatrics and geriatrics. I also provide ongoing ADHD prescribing and monitoring for patients already established on treatment.
Outside of GP, I’m also at HEAL Urgent Care, where I enjoy managing acute illness and injury. This mix alongside the continuity of care and long-term relationships that general practice offers a great balance.
I believe the best healthcare comes from working together. My aim is to listen, understand what matters to you, and help you achieve your health goals with evidence-based, compassionate care. Whether you're coming in with an acute problem or managing a long-term condition, I want you to feel heard, supported and involved in decisions about your health.
Outside of work, you'll usually find me in the garden, searching for a great coffee, learning about wine and spending time with my beloved and spoilt dogs.
