Dr Monisha Avery-Williams

MBBS (Hons I) FRACGP

As a Specialist General Practitioner and Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), I have thirteen years’ experience as a medical doctor, the latter nine of which have been spent working in the field of General Practice.

Having graduated from medical school at the University of New South Wales in 2011 and attained my Fellowship in 2017, I have spent the bulk of my time in clinical practice at two wonderful General Practices at central and eastern Sydney. With recognised special skills in mental health and the provision of antenatal shared care, I have additional special interests in women’s health, preventive health and lifestyle medicine. My practice is grounded in evidence-based, contemporary and research-informed care that is simultaneously holistic and compassionate.

I believe that working as a GP is a privilege. Having returned to my hometown of Newcastle, I am looking forward to building long-standing and trusting relationships with the patients and families of Parry Street Family Practice, and to supporting our community to achieve the best possible health outcomes.

Outside of medicine, I can be found spending time with my husband Nathan and my cats, Bruce and Priyanka, rearranging my bookshelf, tending to my garden and vocally supporting the Newcastle Knights.
